Sri Charles

"When you see my angels walking amongst you, telling you to 'Heal the Atmosphere,' know you that the time is near at hand."

Sri Charles is one of America's leading proponents of the practice of Agnihotra, the process of cleansing our ailing planet of pollution and human beings of stress and disease. Sri Charles has been practicing Agnihotra for 35 years. He was a student and a traveling companion of the honorable Vasant Paranjpe, who brought the science of Agnihotra from India to the United States in 1977 (See: "Secrets of the Soil," by Tompkins & Byrd, 1998).

Nearly every corner of the globe has hosted our loving Brother. Sri Charles has been instrumental in the spreading of the message of Agnihotra all around the world as he has traveled to Europe, India, Indonesia, Africa, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and many other countries. Currently, much of his work is concentrated within the Southeastern United States, where he says:

"...the spiritual heiarchy is still very active and is attempting to build on the work that was begun by so many good souls during the Civil Rights Movement. There were many tasks left unfinished; it is time for the same spiritual energy that worked in the people of that day to be turned towards our precious Mother Earth. We must remove the pollution fromt he land and the sickness of soul and body from mankind; and once again be able to live healthy lives as G-d intended."

Sri Charles is the founder and custodian of Heal the Atmosphere Association and the Shanti Villa Holistic Institute which are both based in Tuskegee, Alabama. He is an expert practicioner of Homa Therapy as a vital methodology for curing physical ailments by incorporating the ash from Agnihotra in all of the healing processes. The Agnihotra ash is also employed in all of the various gardens at Shanti Villa as well as within the vegetable gardens. Sri Charles is noted as stating, "We must be very careful about what we put into our bodies... particularly during this very stressful time we are now living in."

Sri Charles was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, where at the age of 12 he began to feel a desire to be of service to mankind. After graduating from high school, he lived for a short time in Baltimore, Maryland, and from there joined the United States Army. Soon after joining the military he found himself planted within Vietnam. "All the while, I felt the hand of the Divine upon my shoulder, urging me to do His will," states Sri Charles. However, in spite of the Divine prescence that Sri Charles felt at the time, he continued to run-away from "the calling" by attempting to busy himself with everything except the thoughts of G-d's plan.

While avoiding the calling, nothing he did seemed to work out right. He finally convinced himself that the only way for him to have peace was to do the right thing and knock at the door of Eternal Wisdom. What followed was a years-long journey along the Path of Light; during which time he surrendered himself to the Divine and to several of God's Sainted Ones, such as Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj and Shree Vasant Paranjpe whom both were his personal teachers and would help him to find his way along the Path of Light. Now, Sri Charles, his wife and his 4 sons are the devoted caretakers of Shanti Villa, which is a Homa Therapy healing institute recognized world-wide as a "place of miracles."

The Shanti Sun is a bi-monthly newsletter published by the Heal the Atmosphere Association. Its focus is environmental news and the methods that provide a cure for the many ailments that hinder the planet as well as mankind. This publication also features the stories and testimonies of those who practice the science of Agnihotra and how this miraculous science has effected their daily lives.

Sri Charles and his fellow environmentalists are deeply involved in a movemet to make everyone, including politicians and other world leaders, aware of the benefits of Agnihotra. Public rallies, including visits to the offices of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), are poft of a committed effort to bring about awareness at the government level. Sri Charles' mantra on the issue of environmental degredation is "...there is no time left..." to debate what must be done to save the planet and the lives and souls of those who inhabit it.
